Learning Disabilities, Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorder Training - 1 Day - T0225a

Abstract

The aim of this course is to provide course participants with a thorough overview of the mental illness diagnosed as schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. Thorough grounding will be given to understanding this psychiatric illness in reference to supporting people with learning disabilities. Course participants will become familiar with the various theories that help to understand this illness and how best to work with and support individuals.  Guidance will be given in working effectively with delusions and hallucinations and other common features of this illness including ‘hearing voices’.
