Bereavement, Loss And Separation Issues In Working With Children And Families - 2 Days - T0121h

Abstract

The course aims to enable participants to explore issues relating to bereavement, grief, separation and loss in working with children and families and how to analyse theory in relation to this area.  Individuals will learn to understand the concepts of professional and personal mourning, and how to support and aid those individuals who endure bereavement, separation and loss in child and family work.  Emphasis will be placed upon the concept of children who are displaced into the care system and how to work effectively with bereavement and loss and how this impacts upon the individual. Course participants will learn to support the recently bereaved and learn to work with loss in relation to all child and family areas of practice.
