Engaging Fathers Training - One Day - T0205

Abstract

The aim of the course is to familiarise course participants with the concepts relating to engaging fathers in working with children.  The course will focus upon best practice issues for workers whose role it is to work with families.  Concentration will be made upon how to engage fully with fathers and the impact that parenting can have upon them.  A range of aspects will be addressed throughout the training to look at why historically fathers have been ‘left out’ by services.  Emphasis will be placed upon both doing individual and group work with fathers in order that they feel included and not excluded by services.
