Abstract

The aim of the course is to analyse the concept of what is meant by the terms boundary and boundary setting within the work setting with regard to safeguarding. Thorough guidance will be given in this area to highlight the need for boundaries within safeguarding within the workplace environment, both for staff and volunteers. The need for boundary maintenance will be explored by course participants in order to give insight into this potentially hazardous area of work. Numerous areas will be addressed in an attempt to realign true professional boundaries with reference to safeguarding. The pitfalls of breaching set boundaries will be incorporated within this training to exemplify how professionals can become victims of severe criticism due to crossing the line of the duty of care.
