Working With Schizophrenia - 1 Day - T0225c

Abstract

The aim of this course is to provide course participants with a thorough overview of the misunderstood mental illness diagnosed as schizophrenia when working with people with mental health problems and schizophrenia. Thorough grounding will be given to understanding this psychiatric illness. Course participants will become familiar with the various theories that help to understand this illness and how best to work with and support individuals with schizophrenia. Guidance will be given in working effectively with delusions and hallucinations and other common features of this illness including ‘hearing voices’. Course participants will learn new techniques in working with individuals with schizophrenia in order to enhance the aspects of social inclusion of the individual.
