Understanding & Working With Schizophrenia - Half Day Workshop - T0225b

Abstract

The aim of this course is to provide course participants with an overview of the misunderstood mental illness diagnosed as schizophrenia when working with people with mental health problems and schizophrenia. Grounding will be given to understanding this psychiatric illness. Course participants will become familiar with the various theories that help to understand this illness and how best to work with and support individuals with schizophrenia. Guidance will be given in working effectively with delusions and hallucinations and other common features of this illness including ‘hearing voices’.
