Domestic Abuse From A Foster Care Perspective: Managing The Impact On Children (Staff Only) - 1 Day - T0157i

Abstract

The aim of this course is to raise awareness in the area of domestic abuse and how this impacts upon the child from a foster care perspective. The course will focus upon the effects specifically upon children and how children function within domestic abuse domains. Emphasis will be placed upon understanding helping staff undertake assessment of placements in order to manage therapeutic transactions that emerge due to a child’s domestic abuse history in order to offset the likelihood of placement breakdown. A range of areas will be reviewed in how staff can manage placement issues more effectively as a result.
