Understanding Working With Dementia & Learning Disabilities - 1 Day - T0187f

Abstract

The aim of the course is to familiarise participants with concepts relating to Dementia in people with learning disabilities and how this impacts upon the person and how this affects those around them.  The course will provide a thorough review of understanding the rudiments of Dementia in people with learning disabilities.  The complexity of this phenomenon will be explored in order to enable carers to work in a more insightful manner in order to promote best practice in the workplace.  Causational and treatment factors will be explored at length in order to inform current working practice.
