Abstract

The aim of the course is to analyse the concept of what is meant by the terms boundary and boundary setting within care settings. Thorough guidance will be given in this area to highlight the need for boundaries within the workplace environment.  The need for boundary maintenance will be explored by course participants in order to give insight in to this potential hazardous area of work.  Numerous areas will be addressed in an attempt to realign true professional boundaries that fit within procedural guidance.  The pitfalls of breaching set boundaries will be incorporated within this training to exemplify how professionals can become victims of severe criticism due to ‘crossing the line’ of the duty of care.
