Communication Links and Working With Multiple and Profound Learning Disabilities - One Day - T0181b

Abstract

This course is aimed at those staff and carers who support people with multiple and profound learning disabilities who have problems in devising communication links with that particular client group. Emphasis will be placed upon understanding communication processes in people with profound and multiple impairment and how to overcome obstacles within communication. All levels of communication will be addressed in order for course participants to devise the most appropriate communication links with the people they support. Difficulties in this work will also be addressed as a way of devising strategies to alleviate problems in communication processes. Understanding and interpreting behaviours will be addressed throughout the training day.
