Working With Substance Misusing Parents: Implications For Parenting - Two Days - T0241QU

Abstract

The aim of this training course is to cover a wide array of issues in the field of substance misuse and parenting.  The course will focus upon the impacts of: drug usage and parenting, that looks at both illicit drugs and prescribed medications and alcohol. A thorough overview will be given in each of these areas in terms of how each impact upon the child.  Emphasis will be placed upon how each of these aspects impacts upon the parenting of children.  Practitioners will become familiar in approaches in how to work effectively with these very difficult aspects in practice.  At the end of the training the course participants will undertake a knowledge based test pertaining to the content of the course delivered.
